Southern Research Partners with DEFT Dynamics to Develop Smart Robots for Next-Gen Nuclear Reactors, Under DOE Grant

On the project, Southern Research has partnered with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the creator of the original MSR technology; PaR Systems, a leading manufacturer of automation and robotic technology used in nuclear facilities; Intuitive Research and Technology Corp., which specializes in 3-D virtual training environments; DEFT Dynamics, an innovative small business developing real time feedback for robots and manipulators; and Southern Company, a leading energy company based in Atlanta.

The Birmingham startup that generates startups has a new one – targeting the Internet of Things (IoT) industry.

DEFT Dynamics’ Venture Studio has created MOXIE, an IoT platform producing industrial, healthcare and other products for funded startups. MOXIE says it can deliver a ready-to-use IoT system within 30 days of closing a deal.

Birmingham’s DEFT Dynamics has launched a new startup out of its Venture Studio, this time
targeting the Internet of Things (“IoT”) industry.
The new company, MOXIE, is an IoT solutions platform, offering integrated
hardware/software systems though its rapidly-expanding IoT product line, which is currently
focused on industrial IoT, healthcare IoT, and “proof of concept” IoT systems for funded
startups. MOXIE aggressively promises that it can deliver to its clients a ready-to-use IoT
system within 30 days of closing a deal.
