We produce quality composites in-house using the industries most advanced technologies. From AR-15 accessories to carbon fiber flashlights, we can turn any model into a finished composite product.
DEFT began with composites: our first major product was AR-15 handguards from carbon fiber. Since then we have developed cost-effective ways to create pristine composite parts, focusing on resin transfer molding technology.
Embedded systems are fundamental in modern tech. We develop hardware and software from scratch, turning sketches and ideas into circuit boards and apps.
Our first electronics project was for internal use only: we set out to create a simple and effective group of integrated circuits and sensors of exceptional quality that all communicate with a singular micro-controller. This system has helped us to prototype and troubleshoot many of our projects. We felt the platform was robust enough to be released as a standalone product for programmers and developers looking for the best quality boards at the best price, all in one location – neoPLC was born.
Since neoPLC we have worked on various electronics projects, from APEX Pro, a digital driving coach that utilizes artificial intelligence to model and track your cars performance, to LirPro, an innovative vessel dynamics and IoT solution for yachts.
What is it about robots that makes them so robotic? It isn’t “intelligence”: it’s physical Degrees of Freedom – unique ways they can move. A CGI robot has -244 DoF, NASA’s most complex has only 40. More DoF at lower cost is the future no one sees yet.
Affordable and capable robots are the future; we are developing a hexapod robot to achieve that future. Our dexterous hexapod robot, the Dexapod, is designed with six degrees of freedom. This allows for practically any table-top task to be performed. Dexapod can be remotely controlled by a human operator with another Dexapod: the former will perform the exact movements of the latter from miles away. It can also be controlled through the iOS app our team has developed, as well as through task-training by recording a human operators position, speed, and force, then playing the recording back to precisely perform the task with no human interaction.
